Our World Labyrinth Day 2018 Celebration was a perfectly beautiful day. The addition of having a drum circle was an especially fun, welcoming, and meditative experience. We are hoping to include the drum circle to our celebration every year. There was food and drink offered at our new outdoor worship space behind Prince Of Peace and the House Next Door was open for a tour of our spiritual center. All are welcome to come and walk our labyrinth year round and enjoy all the beautiful landscaping that we keep improving.

We are in final preparations for our World Labyrinth Day Celebration on May 6 from 11-3:00 PM and welcome you to join us this Saturday at 9:30 AM to help prepare the landscape surrounding the labyrinth. Please bring work gloves and we look forward to seeing you there.
Cancelled Workday Today 4/1- rescheduled for 4/8
This Saturday, April 8th help is needed to begin preparing the outdoor labyrinth and garden space for the May 6th World Labyrinth Celebration Day at Prince of Peace.
We will begin at 9:30 am and work till 4:00 pm.
Our tasks will be:
1.) Distributing soil to key areas where trees are to be planted.
2.) Cleaning up fallen branches and debris from the area.
All hands are needed to properly grade the ground surrounding the labyrinth before the additional planting and stone work can be installed. Please bring shovels, rakes, mattocks, hand tampers, and wheel barrows (if you have them) to help out with the work at hand. Come help out for an hour or more. Whatever time you can spare this Saturday in service to this project is greatly appreciated.

World Labyrinth Day Celebration Planned For May 6th- 11:00-3:00
Prince of Peace Church is sponsoring a community outreach celebration on World Labyrinth Day. The event will be held between 11:00-3:00 and a presentation will be held at 1:00 with a group walk around the labyrinth. All around the world, people join in a 1:00 walk around their chosen labyrinth on the first Saturday of May each year. Mayor Hsueh of West Windsor and Pastor Froehlke of Prince of Peace will welcome the community and Pastor Dale Selover will give an introduction to our labyrinths history, usage and spiritual purpose. The days festivities include art projects ( creating personal or community prayer flags and rock paintings), musical presentations, Yoga Soul, available food and drink, bake sale, and beautiful mugs with a labyrinth logo for sale. We are also introducing the community to The House Next Door, a spiritual retreat that is offering programs and events to the community in a safe and inviting environment.
We have a workday planned for April 1st to work on the landscaping and add a stone perimeter to the labyrinth. All are invited to help as we continue to improve the area surrounding the labyrinth.
Prince of Peace labyrinth is now listed on labyrinthlocator.com
The World-wide Labyrinth Locator is sponsored by the Labyrinth Society and Veriditas, Inc. which are wonderful resources for labyrinth information and contacts. The Labyrinth Locator provides an image, directions, maps, and specific information (such as the variety of labyrinth, the designer, builder, and the materials that were used to construct the labyrinth). There are many varieties of labyrinths in New Jersey and I encourage you to check it out at http://labyrinthlocator.com.
Labyrinth Celebration and Blessing
Today we celebrated the completion of the labyrinth at Prince of Peace on a beautiful fall day with a cool breeze. After the communion blessing at our 9:30 service, the congregation processed out to the labyrinth with the kite of Juanita Yoder leading the congregation. All of us were connected together with devotional readings, submitted by members of our congregation, that were written out on 6 foot linen strips. The congregation then surrounded the perimeter of the labyrinth to sing Amazing Grace with the sound of bells to accompany us. Pastor Peter Froehike offered readings and blessings from the center of the labyrinth and next to a burning candle inside a glass cylinder. The congregation then enjoyed a brunch picnic beside the labyrinth.
Labyrinth Stone Work Completed
Today we finished placing the stones into the paths of the labyrinth. We are still in the process of preparing a 4 foot red stone walkway around the perimeter of the labyrinth. Please join us on Saturday October 29th at any time between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM to assist with our efforts to create a walkway around the labyrinth. A lunch will be provided. Many thanks to the many faithful people in our congregation, friends, family and Mark Snyder for devoting their time and energy, or prepared food to share, through the long and productive workdays.
Labyrinth and All Saints Day Celebration on November 6th
Plans are being made for an after service event to celebrate the construction of the labyrinth and to honor the special saints in our lives. Weather permitting, on November 6th and after the 9:30 service, we will gather the devotions that are hanging on the sanctuary banner and proceed out to the labyrinth with blessings, song and unity. There will be a sign up sheet in the narthex for those who would like to bring food and drink to share and bond with joy.
Unfortunately, the October 22nd workday was cancelled because of rain, wind and cold. We are still in the process of placing the stones into the paths of the labyrinth and preparing a 4 foot red stone walkway around the perimeter. Please join us on October 29th at any time between 9:30-5:00 to assist with our efforts to construct the labyrinth. A lunch is provided. Many thanks to all who are devoting their time, energy and food to make this labyrinth a reality.
